Chemistry System

Chemistry determines how well your players perform together. Each player can earn 0 to 3 chemistry points based on their links to other players. Players with full chemistry receive stat boosts from chemistry styles; players with zero chemistry receive no boosts at all.

How Chemistry Points Work

  • Nation Link — Players from the same country give each other a chemistry point. This is the easiest link to build around since many top players share nationalities (France, Brazil, Argentina).
  • League Link — Players from the same league provide a chemistry point. Building a squad within one league (Premier League, La Liga, etc.) is the simplest way to achieve full chemistry.
  • Club Link — Players from the same club give 2 chemistry points (counts as both a league and a club link). Using 3-4 players from the same club is a strong chemistry foundation.
  • Hero and Icon Links — Icons link with everyone from their nation. Heroes link with everyone from their league. These special cards are the best "glue" for hybrid squads.

Chemistry Styles

Once a player has chemistry, chemistry styles boost specific stats. For example, a Hunter style boosts Pace and Shooting — ideal for strikers. A Shadow boosts Pace and Defending — ideal for center-backs. Players at 3 chemistry receive full style boosts; at 1-2 chemistry, the boosts are reduced proportionally.

Squad Building Challenges (SBCs)

SBCs require you to submit a squad meeting specific requirements (rating, chemistry, leagues, nationalities) in exchange for packs or special player cards. They are one of the best ways to get high-value cards without spending real money.

SBC Tips

  1. 1.Never submit tradeable high-value players. Use untradeable cards from your club first. Every card in your club that you are not using is potential SBC fodder.
  2. 2.Use SBC solver tools (FUTBIN, FUT.GG). These websites calculate the cheapest possible squad to meet the SBC requirements. Manually building SBCs wastes coins.
  3. 3.Complete Foundation SBCs first — they are permanently available and give decent packs. League SBCs also refresh and provide repeatable value.
  4. 4.Wait 24-48 hours after a new SBC drops before completing it. Card prices spike immediately when a popular SBC launches, then drop 20-40% within a day as the market adjusts.
  5. 5.Stock up on 83-86 rated cards when they are cheap (during large promo pack openings). These mid-rated cards are required in nearly every SBC and spike in price when new SBCs drop.

The best SBCs to complete are player SBCs that give untradeable special cards. These cards are usually 30-50% cheaper than buying the equivalent player on the market, and they often receive upgrades if the real-world player performs well.

Transfer Market

The transfer market is where you buy and sell players. Understanding market patterns lets you buy low and sell high, building your coin balance without spending real money.

Market Patterns

  • Monday-Wednesday: Prices are generally lowest. Most players sell their Weekend League squads on Monday, flooding the market. Buy during these days.
  • Thursday-Friday: Prices rise as players buy squads for Weekend League. Sell your investments during this window.
  • During promo events (TOTY, TOTS, Futties): Most card prices crash as players open millions of packs. This is the best time to buy meta cards at a discount.
  • After content drops (6 PM UK time daily): Prices spike temporarily as players rush to buy cards for new SBCs or objectives. If you are selling, list during this window.

Trading Methods

  1. 1.Mass bidding — Place minimum bids on popular cards 200-300 coins below their Buy It Now price. You will win a small percentage, but each win is pure profit. Best for cards in the 1,000-5,000 coin range.
  2. 2.SBC Investing — Buy 83-86 rated cards at their floor price and hold them until a new SBC requires that rating. Sell during the SBC hype for 50-100% profit.
  3. 3.Sniping — Search for specific cards and refresh the market looking for listings significantly below market value. Requires fast reflexes and market knowledge.
  4. 4.Weekend League Flipping — Buy meta cards Monday night, use them for your own Weekend League, then sell Thursday evening when prices peak.

Budget Squad Building

You do not need millions of coins to build a competitive squad. Many affordable cards perform at the level of expensive meta players. Smart squad building is about finding value, not spending the most.

Budget Building Principles

  1. 1.Prioritize Pace and Physical stats. In the EA FC meta, fast players with good body types outperform slow players with higher overall ratings. An 82-rated CB with 85 pace is better than an 87-rated CB with 60 pace.
  2. 2.Use one league as your base. Building a full Premier League or La Liga squad gives easy chemistry and access to cheap high-quality players at every position.
  3. 3.Upgrade your weakest position first. A 50K coin upgrade at center-back (where mistakes cost goals) is more impactful than a 50K upgrade at left wing.
  4. 4.Do not chase the meta immediately. When a new card is hyped by content creators, its price inflates 30-50% above its true value. Wait a week for the hype to die down.
  5. 5.Use objective and SBC reward players as your squad core. Free untradeable cards from Season Objectives and Milestone rewards are often as good as 100K+ market cards.

Positions to Invest In

  • Goalkeeper — The least important position to spend on. A cheap GK with good height (6'3"+) and basic chemistry style performs within 5% of the most expensive keepers.
  • Center-Backs — Worth investing in. Fast, strong CBs prevent goals. This is where you should allocate your first major upgrade budget.
  • Full-Backs — Use fast, cheap wing-backs. Players with 90+ pace and decent defending are available at low cost in every league.
  • Strikers — The most expensive position. Use a mid-priced striker with a Hunter chemistry style rather than saving for months to afford the top tier. The difference in output is smaller than you expect.
