Recommended Competitive Settings

The right settings won't make you a pro, but wrong settings will hold you back. Here are the competitive defaults most tournament players use:

  • Resolution: 1920x1080 or 1280x960 (stretched) for wider player models
  • Sensitivity: 400 DPI × 2.0 in-game (800 eDPI) — adjust to comfort but stay low
  • Crosshair: Static, size 2-3, gap -2, no outline, bright green or cyan
  • Max FPS: Uncapped or 300+ — higher FPS = lower input lag
  • Audio: HRTF enabled for 3D positional sound

Tournament Strategy Fundamentals

  1. 1.Economy management — Don't force buy. Coordinate full buys with your team.
  2. 2.Default setups — Have a default position for every map. Don't improvise round 1.
  3. 3.Trade fragging — Always play in pairs. If your teammate dies, you get the trade.
  4. 4.Utility usage — Learn 3-4 smokes per map. Utility wins rounds, not just aim.
  5. 5.Communication — Call positions, not emotions. Short, factual, actionable callouts.
