LoL Jinx ADC Guide — Hyper-Carry Itemization & Teamfighting

Jinx is the most consistent ADC in Patch 26.5 with one of the highest win rates among marksmen. Learn her laning phase, optimal item builds, teamfight positioning, and how to snowball with her passive Get Excited.

Rivalsвід Rivals

Laning Phase Strategy

Jinx has one of the weakest early games among ADCs. Your goal in lane is to farm safely, hit your power spikes, and avoid dying. You outscale nearly every bot lane in the game — do not force fights you do not need to take.

Minigun vs Rockets in Lane

Use Minigun (Pow-Pow) for last-hitting and short trades. The attack speed steroid stacks to 3 and makes CSing smooth. Switch to Rockets (Fishbones) to poke enemies when they walk up to CS — the splash damage can hit both the ADC and support. Never leave rockets on permanently; the mana cost will drain you before your first back.

Level 1-5 Rules

  • Levels 1-2: Only last hit. Do not trade unless the enemy walks into your minion wave.
  • Level 3: You have all three abilities. Zap (W) poke becomes available but costs heavy mana — use it only to follow up on support CC.
  • Level 4-5: Start looking for Flame Chompers (E) traps on the enemy when your support engages. E + W combo is your kill setup.
  • Always keep the wave near your tower. Jinx has no escape — if you push up, any gank is a guaranteed death.

Itemization Path

Jinx scales with attack speed and critical strike better than any other ADC. Her Minigun passive gives free attack speed, which means crit items that multiply damage are hyper-efficient on her.

Core Build (Patch 26.5)

  1. 1.Infinity Edge (rush) — Jinx needs the crit damage multiplier as early as possible. With her passive attack speed, each crit hit does devastating damage.
  2. 2.Rapid Firecannon — Extends your Rocket range even further. The energized proc helps you poke safely in mid-game teamfights.
  3. 3.Phantom Dancer — The attack speed and movement speed let you kite and chase effectively. Survivability through mobility.

Situational Items

  • Lord Dominik's Regards — Build third if the enemy has 2+ tanks (Singed, Gangplank, Garen are all dominant in Patch 26.5 top lane)
  • Bloodthirster — If you need sustain against poke compositions
  • Guardian Angel — If assassins (Kha'Zix, Zed) are diving you every fight
  • Mortal Reminder — Against heavy healing (enemy has Soraka, Aatrox, etc.)

Teamfighting & Get Excited Passive

Jinx's passive, Get Excited, grants massive movement speed and attack speed after every kill or assist. This turns teamfights into a snowball: one kill leads to a second, which leads to a pentakill. Your entire teamfight plan revolves around getting that first reset.

Teamfight Positioning Rules

  1. 1.Start every fight in Rocket form. Stand at maximum range and deal splash damage to the enemy frontline. Do NOT walk forward.
  2. 2.Wait for the enemy to use their gap-closers and CC before you commit. If Zed ults someone else, you are safe. If Leona engages on your frontline, you are safe.
  3. 3.Switch to Minigun ONLY when a target is in melee range and you need maximum DPS to kill them fast — or when cleaning up after Get Excited activates.
  4. 4.Once Get Excited procs, you can chase aggressively. The movement speed lets you kite forward and clean up the fight.
  5. 5.Use Super Mega Death Rocket (R) to snipe low-health targets across the map or to start fights with a massive chunk of damage on grouped enemies.

In the current hyper-carry meta (Patch 26.5), Jinx is the premier late-game teamfighter. Games that go past 30 minutes favor Jinx heavily. Play safe, scale, and let your damage speak in teamfights.

Support Synergy & Lane Matchups

Jinx's weak early game means your support pick dramatically impacts your lane. Engage supports that can lock enemies in Flame Chompers are the strongest pairing.

Best Support Pairings

  • Leona (S-tier support in 26.5) — Leona E+Q stun locks enemies directly on top of your Flame Chompers. This is the strongest kill lane for Jinx.
  • Braum — Braum passive stacks with Jinx Minigun attack speed for nearly instant stuns. His shield protects you from poke.
  • Thresh — Lantern provides the escape Jinx does not have. Hook into Flay keeps enemies in Chompers range.
  • Avoid pairing with enchanter supports like Lulu or Soraka — Jinx needs an engage support to compensate for her lack of early aggression.

Difficult Matchups

  • Kai'Sa (18.1% pick rate, most popular ADC) — She can all-in you at level 6 with her ult. Play extra safe and outscale her after 3 items.
  • Draven — His early damage destroys Jinx. Give up CS if needed; dying to Draven accelerates his snowball and ends the game.
  • Lucian + Nami — The most aggressive bot lane. They will zone you off every CS. Accept falling behind 10-15 CS and farm under tower.
