Summary

This playbook shows how to execute Disruptor hard support effectively in Patch 7.40c within structured Rivals matches. Disruptor wins games by punishing mobility, controlling mid-game skirmishes and landing disciplined teamfight combos. Precision and positioning matter more than farm.

Step 1: Win the Lane Through Harassment

Objective: Secure early pressure and enable your core.

Lane Rules

  • Open with Thunder Strike to pressure and secure ranged creeps.
  • Trade aggressively when your carry is in position.
  • Conserve mana for key Glimpse opportunities.
  • Maintain vision control around pull camps.
Decision Rule

If the enemy overextends or teleports in, look for a Glimpse punish immediately.

Step 2: Establish Early Control (Level 2–7)

Primary early priority

  1. 1.Max Glimpse first in most games.
  2. 2.Take early value in Thunder Strike.
  3. 3.One early point in Kinetic Field.
  4. 4.Ultimate at 6 / 12 / 18.

Why Glimpse first: Longer send-back distance equals stronger pickoffs and greater punishment for poor positioning.

Alternative early adjustment: If the lane requires stronger harassment, you can prioritise Thunder Strike at early levels before fully committing to Glimpse.

Step 3: Mid-Game Skirmish Execution

Disruptor excels between 12 and 35 minutes.

Checklist

  • Play behind your frontline.
  • Do not show before fights begin.
  • Hold Glimpse for key targets, not tanks.
  • Communicate cooldowns clearly.

Key combo

  1. 1.Place Kinetic Field.
  2. 2.Immediately cast Static Storm inside it.
  3. 3.Glimpse high-value targets back into the zone if they attempt to escape.
Do
  • Trap mobility heroes after they commit.
  • Glimpse heroes who TP into fights.
  • Punish reposition attempts.
Don't
  • Lead fights from the front.
  • Waste Static Storm on low-impact targets.
  • Cast Kinetic Field without follow-up.

Wind Waker
  • Force Staff (reposition allies)
  • Eul’s Scepter (self-save or setup)
  • Aether Lens (cast range)
  • Refresher Orb (double ultimate)
  • Wind Waker (late-game save tool)

Important principle: Disruptor does not require heavy farm to function. Prioritise wards, detection and team utility.

Decision Rule

If enemy cores rely heavily on magic immunity timing, Aghanim’s Scepter becomes significantly more valuable.

Step 5: Positioning Discipline

Your effectiveness depends entirely on positioning.

Checklist

  • Stay outside initial stun range.
  • Let initiators reveal first.
  • Blink from fog if possible.
  • Do not stack with other supports.

If you die first, your team loses control.

Step 6: Matchup Awareness

Strong Versus

  • Storm Spirit (mobility punish)
  • Queen of Pain (post-blink punish)
  • Shadow Fiend (channel interruption and zone control)

Struggles Versus

  • Lifestealer (spell immunity during Rage)
  • Juggernaut (Blade Fury immunity)
  • Faceless Void (Time Walk escape and Chronosphere threat)

If facing spell-immunity cores, focus more on Glimpse pickoffs and defensive utility rather than full teamfight combos.

Power Spike Timeline

Level 7

Max Glimpse range becomes highly punishing.

Mid Game (~Blink timing)

Reliable Kinetic Field + Static Storm initiation.

Late Game (Aghanim’s Scepter)

Static Storm becomes significantly more threatening.

Disruptor’s strength peaks in coordinated mid-game teamfights.

If You're Losing, Do This

  1. 1.Stop forcing blind high-ground fights.
  2. 2.Play behind defensive wards.
  3. 3.Glimpse heroes who overextend during pushes.
  4. 4.Save Static Storm for objective defence.
  5. 5.Prioritise utility items over luxury upgrades.

You can stall games effectively by punishing over-aggression.

Do / Don't Summary

Do
  • Hold Glimpse for high-impact targets.
  • Combo Kinetic Field before Static Storm.
  • Buy team utility items.
  • Play around vision and fog.
Don't
  • Initiate without backup.
  • Waste ultimate on low-value heroes.
  • Stand in front during pushes.
  • Ignore mobility cooldowns.
