How Entry Fees and Prize Pools Work on Rivals

A transparent breakdown of how entry fees become prize pools, how organizer fees work, and how every dollar is tracked and distributed on the Rivals platform.

The Money Flow

Every paid tournament on Rivals follows the same transparent flow: players pay entry fees, those fees form the prize pool, and winners receive automated payouts.

  1. 1.Organizer creates tournament and sets entry fee (minimum $5 / 450 INR)
  2. 2.Players register and pay — funds go into a secured prize pool
  3. 3.Rivals takes 10% platform fee from the prize pool
  4. 4.Organizer takes 0–30% organizer fee from the remainder
  5. 5.Rest is distributed as prizes to winning players

Example: 8-Team Tournament at $50 Entry

Let's say you enter an 8-team tournament with a $50 entry fee per team. Here's how the money breaks down:

  • Gross revenue: 8 × $50 = $400
  • Rivals platform fee (10%): $40
  • Remaining: $360
  • Organizer fee (15%): $54
  • Prize pool: $306

The $306 prize pool is then distributed according to the chosen model — winner takes all, top 2, top 3, or a custom split. Every number is visible to every participant before the tournament starts.

Getting Your Money Out
